I loved this story, I have to say! For Rob and for my Canadian friends, when it comes to the question of crime, there is a binary opposition set up in their heads: South Africa has it, and Canada doesn’t.

This story tells me two things, however: one, that crime, including vehicle theft, is not a uniquely South African commodity – and two, that (and here I have to concede the point) Canada just may have the edge when it comes to deterrence.

Wouldn’t you just love to see the faces on the dumb unlucky crooks, when they open up the stolen truck and find inside – two horses designed by a committee, and a Bengal tiger!
